Company History
April 1972 Company first established by Ken Myohdai as a Japan Rep for Meisenbach GmbH.
International A & M activities started.

February 1980   Company incorporated with initial capital of 1,000,000 yen as International A & M Inc.
Head office established in Osaka.

December 1981   Acting for Publex International Ltd. of the UK, International A & M is appointed official Japan rep for the Wire show held in Singapore. 23 Japanese exhibitors are represented at this show, held for the first time in Asia.

November 1982   At the request of the official contractor for Wire Asia an investment is made to establish a branch office in Japan.
Sales activities commence in Tokyo. Using local construction to facilitate booth decoration for trade shows in
Southeast Asia and China established as a business model. For almost 10 years this is run as a virtual monopoly.

February 1989   Collaboration with Singapore contractor concluded and company name changed to Sakura Display Inc.
Event display activities commence both domestically and internationally.
Promotion of modular system for use in trade shows also commences.

February 1990   Nara Depot established.

December 1994   Company name changed to Sakura International Inc.

November 1995   Through an introduction from the Wire Asia show hall owners Sakura is appointed Japan rep for the "Biotech and Pharmaceutical China Show and Conference".

February 1997   Sakura appointed official contractors East Hall 3 at the 43rd Tokyo International Gift Show.
Utlising know-how and contacts built up from previous events this is the starting point for major expansion.

March 2003   Osaka Small and Medium Business Investment and Consultation Company invests in Sakura.
Tokyo Warehouse No. 1 and office established at Higashisuna.

November 2004   Osaka HQ moves to current location.

April 2005   Tokyo Warehouse No. 2 established at Shinkiba, only 5 mins from Tokyo Big Sight.

March 2006   Capital is increased to current level of 48,000,000 yen.

May 2006   Design and Sales staff move from Tokyo Warehouse to dedicated office premises at current location.

April 2007   20 new staff start as part of major expansion phase.
